Take Advantage of Your Seniority

Canoe Club

In June of 2009, under the expert guidance of Murray Matheson, a small group of like minded, energetic seniors from the Guelph Wellington Seniors Association banded together to form a fledgling Canoe Club.

Every year since then, from about mid May to mid September, this small group spend about two hours every Thursday morning on one of the local rivers within a 45 minute drive of Guelph, in surprisingly wild areas so close, enjoying the benefits of time in the outdoors rejuvenating body and soul.

The Evergreen Canoe Club of the GWSA has an established membership for each season. If you are an experienced canoeist, we welcome you to join us. (We respectfully request a "trial" evaluation during the first trip, as safety on the water is our number one priority).

If, however, you would like to learn to paddle, or need brushing up on your skills, the club offers training sessions each spring season.
