Ski Club
Do you enjoy downhill or cross country skiing?
Right now there are Cross Country Skiers and Downhill/Alpine Skiers in the Evergreen Ski Club with one day a week planned for each group. If more than two days a week is desired, we may have to split the Skiing Club into two, but for now we plan to run one Club with two Divisions. If the Club splits, your money will follow you to the club you choose.
Cost: To join the Skiing Club costs $10.00 per season. If you want to be part of both Clubs, your $10.00 fee will be split between the two clubs.
Mondays will be established as the day Downhill/Alpine skiers car pool to Blue Mountain. We will leave on the 1st Monday Blue Mountain is open and continue with every Monday into April when Blue closes. There will be a break over the Christmas Holidays. We will leave Guelph at 8:00 a.m.. If you join this group, a 5 x7 pass purchase is advisable, but only if you intend to ski more than 5 times. A Day Pass to Blue Mountain is about $40.00 at this time of year and will go up to about $55.00 at peak season. The 5 x 7 pass costs $277.00 now and entitles you to cost discounts of 15% on food, clothing and equipment at Blue Mountain. See the web site for details - www.bluemountain.ca
What areas are we going to Cross Country Ski? We will rely on members to provide us with info on good Cross Country ski trails. We know about the Royal Trail, the Ignatious Centre, The Jack Rabbits Club, Conestoga Conservation Area (Possibility of a $2.00 daily entry fee like the Hiking Club), Guelph Lake Conservation Area and other areas.
Registration Forms will be available at the front desk of the Evergreen Centre where you can also pay your $10.00 at the same time
